The Musings of Prophet Introduction of Myself

Conrad Prophet is a man with a sincere desire to educate and empower people, especially youth.

As a native of the metropolitan Detroit area, Conrad is very familiar with the trials and hardships of growing up in a major urban city. Through his personal experiences in the inner city, as well as in educational and employment settings, Conrad was motivated to share his knowledge and perspective, with the hope of preparing young people for adulthood and the trials that accompany it, while helping them to avoid the pitfalls and problems he encountered. This desire, and much sacrifice and determination, resulted in his first novel, Last Year Before Reality, a work of fiction that he self-published in 2001.

Although Conrad felt a sense of accomplishment from completing his first book, he still had a strong urge to convey some of the real-life lessons he learned as he matured and was forced to deal with the realities that come with striving to be an educated and independent Black man in America. He still felt compelled to compose an ’instruction manual’ that would provide guidance and insight into how to develop the necessary skills to survive in various areas, such as private and government employment, self-employment, educational pursuits, and even the U.S. Armed Services. Conrad effectively self-published his second novel, Knowing the Rules of the Game, in 2004.

Both of Conrad’s books have been well-received in the community, and he has successfully facilitated discussion groups and seminars based on their contents in local high schools and churches.

Conrad has an almost insatiable desire to write and share knowledge. He is currently working on the sequel to Last Year Before Reality, and has informally started his next 3-4 novels. Through his belief in God and ever-increasing faith, Conrad Prophet will undoubtedly make an individual contribution toward ensuring that people ‘know the rules of the game’ and are empowered to become educated, motivated and productive individuals.
